The Sendai by William Woolfolk 1981 Paperback
$8.00
“mad” doctor decides to create a new race of humans called The Sendai as well as other gentic mutations to “improve” the world. And to keep his secret is willing to kill anybody who tries to uncover the truth of what he is doing in a Clinic that was created and left for him from a rich dead man. The clinic is seperated into 3 parts, phase 1, 2, 3 with phase 3 being the top secret gentic cross breeding starts.
Our hero – the son of a top in his field, closed minded, “holier then thou” attitude, doctor who goes and accidently kills himself trying to prove the “cure” he created is better then what other scientists are working on by infecting himself with the plauge then injecting his “cure” – finds that the invertro program from the abovemention clinic has a unusually high newborn death rate. But in reality the doctors at the clinic are taking the “sendai” babies away and telling the mothers that the baby died at birth.
Enlisting several people who work at the clinic our hero slowly figures out what is going on in the clinic.
